Shoutout

I was born and raised in Hilongos, Leyte, Philippines.

Went to the country’s capital for college education. Lived away from my mother (but lived and still living with relatives).

Spent five years in engineering school.

Passed the board exam.

Started my first job as a college instructor in my alma mater.

Later on pursued a job in a design & engineering firm as a graduate engineer.

Left that job after more than a year. But soon found myself returning after a short stint in another company.

Then the pandemic hit.

Almost everything just got extra challenging most especially at work.

A difficult life becomes more difficult.

I was not spared of the challenges.

And I had a hard time coping up.

Long story short, I had a burnout.

But I was so lucky I got the chance to take a break from work earlier this year.

To reset.

To start again.

And bounce back.

But just when I thought the break was already enough to be able to start all over again, it was not.

By the time I returned to work, things that happened next were not all favorable to me.

That it made me describe my situation as dead-end already.

Or rock bottom, maybe.

For me, things were already hopeless.

But with the power of prayers, I like to believe, I am back on my feet again.

And I’m now taking it one day at a time. Although I feel I am back at square one, it actually doesn’t matter.

What matters more now is actually enjoying and growing while journeying.

And I couldn’t be more grateful.

For all the experiences. Happy and sad. Easy and difficult. Good and bad.

So I would like to dedicate this blog post to the One up there.

Shoutout to You.

For helping me to grow and learn every single day.

For sending people whom we can share our successes with. And also the same people who help pick us up during failures.

Closest friends.

Family.

My Mama, my mother.

My Mommy & Tia, my aunts.

Budang, my cousin.

And Ton, my jowa wah! 😅

As mentioned in my Today blog post…every 28th of the month is a special day of my romantic life. And yes, it is the 28th of the month but today is EXTRA special!

Because it’s our anniversary!

And it has been six years! 🥰

But you know, the timeline should really have started 12 years ago as he’s already my companion since 2009. 😉

We were college blockmates from first year (hi CE11KA1😬👋🏼) to fifth year! Imagine that.

And now, we work in the same company. 🤯

I am personally amazed that we will become company-mates eventually. And it even actually happened twice. First was around 2017 and then in 2019 (and still counting) when we became returnees to the company.

He was there in all my ups and downs in my late teenage years and young adult life. He has seen all my successes and defeats. And has always been my go-to person to rant to or chismis to anything that happened in a day of my life. Lalo na minsan kailangan mo ng tagakinig, diba? My sponge. And very supportive in all the ATTEMPTS and ADVENTURES I have decided to pursue. Whether to blog, vlog, apply to this scholarship, join this contest, etc.

For that, I am grateful. Super grateful.

So special shoutout to you, Ton.

And thank you always for all the pag-aantay in all forms. IYKYK.

P.S. Siya talaga nangbubudol sa pagbabike at yung mga 100km rides at lalo na yung mga nakakaiyak na ahon. But no regrets!
