Attempture Turns One

One year ago (25 March 2020), I posted my very first ever Attempture blog post. And it marked my rekindled relationship with blogging. It started off with the huge change that happened in our lives…the COVIC-19 pandemic…which eventually led me to work from home for the first time and that became the topic of my very first blog entry here. A year later, I was able to publish 17 posts (not including this one). Yay! Good progress because I expected I can only publish five and like 30 in the drafts section. Haha.

Anyway, quick recap about my blogging journey (if you’d like to know hehe), I actually started when I was in high school influenced by Chris Tiu. I used Blogger back then same as Chris’ blog (chris-tiu.blogspot.com). I then shifted to WordPress around 2014 and even bought my own domain around 2016. But due to struggles like finding your “blog identity” and financial constraints (as it’s somehow pricey to maintain your domain), I decided to stop.

But my love for blogging never really stopped. From 2016 to 2019, I used the time to ponder on what kind of stories I would like to share. It was not easy. This time, I would say I am more careful because I don’t want to be in a situation again that I look like copying the posts (not really copy, but more of the syntax or style) of other famous bloggers. I mean if you are starting out and you want to get heavy following, you try to copy someone else’s way that’s doing good…but you know it’s not sustainable. And also not authentic.

So I took the time. I didn’t rush. And when I felt I was ready to do blogging again, I put up this WordPress account (and now, I don’t care if I don’t have my own domain yet, I am just focused now on putting in more stories). And I called it Attempture because having this blog is already an attempt (to share your point of views) and also an adventure (because I don’t know where it will take me). To put it simply, I want this to be the online record of my personal life attempts + adventures aside from the memories that I share on Facebook / Instagram / Twitter. Hehe. And the reason why I concentrate on attempts because for me, life is all about attempts anyway…an attempt to survive every single day.

So if you are new here and quite interested to know what about life I do share, you may go directly to the Categories page and you will see there on how I define or curate or categorize my life. Hehe. Kaartehan ko lang. But you don’t have to do the same.

Moving on, I recently ventured on doing vlogs on YouTube (link is here) as another attempt in life but I would like to declare that blogging is my first love but I’d say I am enjoying editing videos too now. Exciting times really!

Again, happy one year, Attempture!

To all who have read my blogs and watched my vlogs, thank you very much. It really means a lot.
