Because I still haven’t got over with Crash Landing On You (CLOY) yet, I thought of blogging this feeling off.
I know I’m late already, it has been trending for quite some time now but I just found time last weekend while on ECQ to binge-watch it. I even can’t remember anymore when was the last time I binge-watched a Korean drama series or Kdrama.
For the record, I didn’t watch a Kdrama just because it’s trending. I still regularly watch Kdrama but only watch like one or two episodes per day. I usually watch medical Kdramas (name it, I’ve watched it, char lang) and CLOY is actually not my cup of tea but man, it’s really the best and worth the hype!
I don’t know but there’s always on-screen chemistry between the leads or even second leads in any romantic Kdrama that I’ve watched. Korean acting trainers have maybe perfected this already…so the chemistry of Captain Ri Jeon Hyeok, a North Korean soldier, and Yoon Se Ri, a South Korean heiress and CEO, is not in question here and the drama’s success rely on this chemistry thing heavily. So we are not tackling about that anymore. What really made it special for me are these:
- Running time
This one I think has the longest running time per episode so far among all Kdramas that I’ve watched before. It’s both a curse and a blessing. Averaging 80 minutes per episode, the story line and scenes are well-executed, no scene is rushed, and pacing is good.
And those short scenes at the end of each episode, what a treat! Just a friendly advice (as I was just also advised), after the ‘freeze’ don’t click the next episode button yet. It may have added to the longer running time but it helps to set the mood for the next episode or allows you to understand more the story. - Timing
Somehow usual in Kdramas and that does include CLOY in the list, the cuts are the best. It makes you even more curious that you will for sure fall into the trap of “one more episode” syndrome. And you will realize then it’s already four in the morning. Time to sleep buddy! - Switzerland
Oh! The countryside! I was swooning especially on the last scene featuring Lake Lungern where they were picnicking at the front of their home, facing the lake. Were you able to catch that? If not, then see item 1 advice again. It has affected me so much that it made me do a Google Streetview search of where their Swiss house is located. Curious where? Click this link and navigate.
And also, made me do random art. One is this post’s featured image and the one below.

I think that’s it. I won’t talk more about the plot, it’s for you to find out though you are really late for #CLOYFever, like me. 😅
